VAC Monthly District Townhall
Overview of the VAC Townhall: Intentionality & Purpose
The Veterans Advisory Committee (VAC) Townhall is designed as an intentional space for transparent communication, collaboration, and accountability between veterans, community stakeholders, and county leadership. Its core purpose is to foster open dialogue around the needs, challenges, and priorities of the veteran community, while also highlighting the county’s efforts, available resources, and future goals.
Intentionality: The VAC Townhall isn’t just a meeting—it’s a strategic gathering with clear intent:
To listen directly to veterans, their families, and frontline service providers.
To inform the community about current initiatives, available services, and policy updates.
To inspire collective ownership and forward momentum in solving systemic issues affecting veterans, especially in areas like housing, healthcare, justice-involvement, and employment.
To engage in authentic conversations that elevate real voices, not just metrics or programs.
Purpose:
Bridge Gaps: The Townhall serves to close the communication gap between veterans and the systems that serve them.
Promote Transparency: Leaders share both successes and ongoing challenges to promote trust.
Drive Change: Community feedback collected during the event helps shape policies, services, and outreach strategies.
Build Community: The Townhall creates a shared space for connection, healing, and mobilization—uniting nonprofits, county agencies, local leaders, and the veteran population under a common mission.
