Riverside County Veterans Services: Veterans Re-Entry Program (VRIP)

Welcome to the Veterans Re-Entry Program (VRIP), a supportive initiative by Riverside County Veterans Services. Our mission is to assist justice-involved veterans in reintegrating into society and achieving personal stability through comprehensive support. We believe every veteran deserves a second chance to build a fulfilling and self-sufficient life. Our program provides personalized, compassionate assistance that meets each veteran’s unique needs, helping them reconnect with their community and prepare for a brighter future.
Who We Serve
The VRIP is designed for veterans who are currently incarcerated, transitioning from incarceration, or involved in the justice system. We recognize that these veterans face unique challenges, and we are here to guide them every step of the way. Through our holistic approach, we aim to foster resilience, encourage independence, and facilitate sustainable, positive change.
Program Services
Our program offers a wide range of services to support veterans on their journey to reintegration. Each service is provided by skilled professionals who are dedicated to empowering veterans with the resources, tools, and guidance they need.
- Case Management
- We provide personalized case management services to help veterans identify their goals, navigate complex resources, and build a sustainable plan for the future. Our case managers work one-on-one with each veteran, tailoring support to fit individual circumstances and aspirations.
- Housing Assistance
- A stable home is the foundation for success. VRIP connects veterans with housing resources to secure affordable, safe, and stable living arrangements. We collaborate with local housing providers to facilitate housing placement and provide assistance to help maintain housing stability.
- Jail In-Reach Program
- Our jail in-reach services aim to ease the transition for veterans during and after incarceration. By working with veterans while they are still in custody, we help them prepare for a successful reentry. We provide guidance on essential life skills, resource connections, and transition planning to ensure veterans have the support they need before they are released.
- Employment Support
- Employment is crucial for successful reintegration. Our employment support services include job placement assistance, resume building, interview preparation, and skill development. We also work with local employers and organizations that are committed to hiring veterans, providing veterans with opportunities for meaningful, stable work.
- Mental Health Services
- We understand the importance of mental health in the reentry process. Our program offers access to counseling and mental health support to help veterans manage stress, trauma, and other mental health challenges. Our mental health team is trained to address the unique experiences and needs of justice-involved veterans, promoting wellness and resilience.
- Healthcare Linkages
- Access to healthcare is a vital part of the VRIP. We connect veterans with medical providers who understand their specific needs, ensuring they receive the physical health support required for successful reentry. Services include regular check-ups, specialized care, and referrals for additional medical resources.
- VA Claims Support
- We provide assistance with filing VA claims and accessing disability compensation. Navigating VA benefits can be complex, but our dedicated team simplifies the process, helping veterans understand and apply for the benefits they have earned. We are here to ensure that veterans receive the financial support they deserve.
Additional Support Programs
In addition to the primary services, VRIP offers a range of supplemental programs and workshops designed to foster personal development and community connection. These programs cover topics such as financial literacy, communication skills, anger management, and conflict resolution. By providing veterans with a well-rounded support system, we aim to help them build a resilient foundation for long-term success.
